Samtec Sponsors Phalanx Robotics

The makerspace movement is providing a new platform to the field of robotics by enabling makers and hobbyists to have high-end equipment at their fingertips to help bring their cutting-edge, electronic designs to life. Maker13, a local maker space, was that for Phalanx Robotics as they ventured into building a robot for the upcoming BattleBots competition. Samtec helps to sponsor Maker13. So, when we heard of the opportunity to help STEM and robotics efforts locally, we naturally said “yes”. Robot combat requires extreme ruggedization of electronic interconnects. As a result, several of Samtec high-power, micro and rugged interconnects were used in Phalanx’s robot, Aegis.
